28.1 Avoir and Être in the Present Subjunctive
Avoir and être are the two major exceptions to the subjunctive patterns you've learned. Other verbs may use irregular stems, but they still take the standard present-subjunctive endings. But avoir and être do not consistently follow those endings, so their complete conjugations need to be learned separately.
