Why Verbs?

Are French verbs bumming you out? Are they hampering your dreams of becoming a bilingual globetrotting adventurer? Well, you're not alone. Verbs are a major pain point for language learners—many find themselves stuck at a mediocre level of French speaking because they have not been able to internalize all the verb forms necessary to speak and comprehend fluently.

The French Verbs Master Class

You're currently in the Crash Course, the first of three phases in the French Verbs Master Class—a complete system designed to take you from uncertainty to effortless conjugation. Here's how it works:

Phase 1:

The Crash Course

We start by building a rock-solid foundation. You'll learn every essential verb concept covered in a four-year French program—when to use each tense and mood, how verbs behave, and how to think like a fluent French speaker.

Phase 2:

The Conjugation Cascade

Now that you've got a handle on the fundamentals, it's time to master the art of conjugation. In the Conjugation Cascade, conjugation will become second nature. You'll train with the core French verbs across every tense and mood, drilling until they flow naturally—without hesitation or second-guessing.

Phase 3:

The Vocab Expander

Now that you're a pro at conjugating, you can just focus on adding new infinitives to your repertoire! Every infinitive in our database is here for you to learn.

Where Everything Comes Together:

Your Review Tab

Every verb you learn in the three phases is sent to your Review Tab, where your progress is tracked and reinforced using scientifically optimized review intervals:

  • Verbs you know well fade into the background, while challenging ones resurface at just the right time for review.
  • This ensures long-term retention and eliminates the frustration of forgetting and relearning conjugations.
  • Instead of short-term memorization, you'll achieve true mastery—bringing fluency within reach by locking in this essential foundational skill.

Getting Started with Phase 1

The Crash Course is your first step toward French verb mastery—and skipping it could leave gaps in your foundation, even if you think you already know the material. Think of it like building a house: In a traditional classroom, students move on even if they only understand 80% of the material. But what happens if you build a house on an 80% complete foundation? Cracks form, the structure weakens, and the entire thing collapses under pressure. The same happens with French verbs—small gaps in understanding compound over time, making advanced concepts harder to grasp.

A house built on an 80% complete foundation. It's not going well.

That's why the Crash Course is essential. Even if you've covered some of these concepts before, VerbMaster ensures every verb form is truly mastered before moving on. VerbMaster adapts to you, reinforcing the conjugations you need to review most while fast-tracking conjugations you already know.
